After Sikkim, scientists have now started expanding in other states. Its sowing is being done till Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh and Barapani in Meghalaya. According to media reports, a long time ago the Sikkim government observed the status of saffron cultivation in different parts of its state. Here the land was found favorable for the production of saffron. Pangtang, Simik, Khamdong, Padamchen and surrounding areas in East Sikkim have been identified for saffron sowing. Sikkim officials have also visited Jammu and Kashmir to see the condition of saffron.

Similar geographical conditions, hence the yield
The officers of Horticulture Department of Jammu Kashmir and Sikkim are in constant contact regarding saffron production. Officers have also been given training regarding this. Officials say that the yield depends on the environment to a great extent. The climatic and geographical conditions of Kashmir and Sikkim are almost similar in terms of saffron cultivation. According to media reports, it has been officially confirmed that the Sikkim government has cultivated saffron in an area of ​​about one and a half acres. Its results have been good.

Saffron was cultivated in a small part
According to media reports, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad had said that in Mission 2020, a small portion of the land was cultivated under the supervision of Sikkim University. There was a good yield of saffron. Seeing the results, it was decided to sow it in other parts of the state. The success rate of saffron cultivation in the state is up to 80 percent.
